I love the internet and if you do too - CLICK HERE TO GET INVOLVED

(From top to bottom, left to right: Minecraft homepage, Google, Wikipedia, 4chan, Twitpic, ThePirateBay, Wordpress, and BoingBoing)

Fucking amazing effort.  At least this isn’t going to go down without a battle.

Wikipedia is very helpful. If you just enter your zipcode, it will give you links to send emails to your local congressmen. I am disappointed that Youtube didn’t get involved. Esecially considering how much this legislation would affect that site.

Why the fuck is Tumblr linking words in my posts to advertisements?

Is there a way to disable that? I fucking hate it.

EDIT: I figured out how to disable them. Click here to opt out.

toobadvampire asked: Tag, you're it! Here are the rules: Each tagged person must post ten things about themselves. You have to choose and tag ten people. Go to their blogs and tell them you tagged them. No tag back. :)

1. I have been an ordained minister since 2003.

2. I am a machinist at Caterpillar. My building makes tractor transmissions. My section makes shafts. I run a grinder.

3. I have exactly 30 pairs of shoes (including boots and flip-flops).

4. I had a mullet through all of my teen years. I have been growing my hair out since last Christmas so I can cut it into a mullet next Halloween.

5. I have a dog named Buddy. I named him that to help break my habit of over using “buddy” as a placeholder name.

6. I frequently have dreams where my grandma and, especially, grandpa are still alive. He died in 1996, she in 2002.

7.I still have a douchey, “big bass” car stereo, but have spent a lot of time and money soundproofing my vehicle, so people outside can’t hear it.

8. I spend a considerable amount of time fanaticising about going back in time, by transferring my knowledge and experience into the brain of my younger self.

9. I sleep with a CPAP machine to control my sleep apnea.

10. I drink a fifth of Jose Cuervo Silver almost every night.

Bonus. I am a huge fan of the Star Trek franchise, however I cannot stand the Original Series. Not a big fan of the newest movie, either.

Yelawolf kills it on Conan. This is from earlier in the month. It is one of the best rap performances I have seen on Conan. Travis Barker is pretty damn good on drums, too.

This is exactly what I have been saying. It seems that Christians are the ones most offended by anything other than Merry Christmas. I don’t understand why they just can’t appreciate someone saying something nice to them.

P.S. I’m stealing this to post in facebook.

My Take on the Louis CK Thing.

I am a big fan of “obtaining” free media. That said, I was happy to purchase the Louis CK special. He’s my favorite comedian. Just fucking brilliant. But that’s not why I bought it. I bought it because it was cheap. I bought it because I know he was receiving the profit, not the CEO of some big production company. I bought it because he asked me to.

If a band I liked offered their CD for download online at the price of $5, I would happily buy it, as well. The reality is, however, that media is overpriced. This is not because of piracy, rather, piracy is because it it. Spending $.99 - $1.30 a song or $20+ for a movie is just ridiculous. There are simply too many hands in the cookie jar.

I hope this marks a crossroads of how people distribute their material. Louis CK put himself out there, I think, to try to help facilitate this. He proved it can be done successfully, if you have the balls and love for your fans to make it happen. Big companies aren’t going to like it. They have too many people to pay and a few too many people making too much money. It would be nice to see this trend of independent distribution catch one, but I fear the corporate mongrels will try to find a way to stop it. They have a lot at stake and a lot of money to spend towards getting what they want.

It’s up to us to cast our capitalistic votes.

People are taking the piss out of you everyday. They butt into your life, take a cheap shot at you and then disappear. They leer at you from tall buildings and make you feel small. They make flippant comments from buses that imply you’re not sexy enough and that all the fun is happening somewhere else. They are on TV making your girlfriend feel inadequate. They have access to the most sophisticated technology the world has ever seen and they bully you with it. They are The Advertisers and they are laughing at you.

You, however, are forbidden to touch them. Trademarks, intellectual property rights and copyright law mean advertisers can say what they like wherever they like with total impunity.

Fuck that. Any advert in a public space that gives you no choice whether you see it or not is yours. It’s yours to take, re-arrange and re-use. You can do whatever you like with it. Asking for permission is like asking to keep a rock someone just threw at your head.

You owe the companies nothing. Less than nothing, you especially don’t owe them any courtesy. They owe you. They have re-arranged the world to put themselves in front of you. They never asked for your permission, don’t even start asking for theirs.

I will never stop loving this quote.

This is something that I have felt for a long time, but am not articulate enough to express it as well as in this quote.
