I’ve started to develop a slight disgust for pets.
Who decided that we had the right to have animals as pets AND to rub their noses in their own shit to boot? Animals have no less of a soul than we do and yet we put animals to sleep or straight up kill them for attacking us. Wow. The only two animals that I think there is nothing wrong with having as pets are dogs and cats. For me, preferably cats, since they are so lazy that they probably enjoy us bringing their food to them and changing their shit box. Wtf, now I’m just ranting.
I pretty much agree, but would add fish as an acceptable pet. I really don’t think fish mind being in aquariums. To “roam free” is probably not as valuable to an animal that is primarily something else’s prey when in the wild. I do think a lot of aspects of having animals as pets is bullshit. Puppy mills are the worst. I never wanted any mammal pets, but I decided that I should adopt at least one dog in my lifetime. I wish everyone adopted their dogs, instead of breeding them. And of course, to quote the late Bob Barker “Help control the pet population. Have your pet spayed or neutered. Bye-bye.”
