You know, it kind of disgusts me how many of you suggested I enter Evelyn into that contest. I’ve concluded that beauty pageants are dirty as fuck and give children a poor prerequisite on what is important to aspire for in life.
There was an overwhelming response of “Do it” and I really wasn’t expecting that at all. You people really think it’s okay to exploit chidren like that? Gah. Gross. I get angry at myself for even temporarily considering it. I’m going to chase success, but it’s not going to be at my daughter’s expense.
Those things are sick as shit. I cannot even believe they are legal. It first came to my attention when that JonBenét Ramsey shit came out in the 90s. It’s one thing to dress a little girl (or boy) up to look cute, but these people dress them up with the intention of making them look sexy. UGH. Criminal. I didn’t realize how bad it was, until someone posted some pictures a few years ago (via the now defunct Invert forums) of little girls in SKIMPY bikinis. I about puked.
Even if it was a reasonable contest where they judged them on how cute they are wearing appropriate clothing, little kids shouldn’t worry about how attractive they are in a contest like that.That’s the kind of shit that leads to anorexia, bulimia, depression, ect.
