10 Big Mistakes Parents Make
Articles like this remind me how effing awesome my parents are. I don’t think they made any of these mistakes raising my brother and I
wow. holy shit. this pretty much fits my parents (well, mostly mom) to the “T”. i really went down the whole list and couldnt find anything they missed. even by a stretch.
“4) Praising mediocrity
While we all want to encourage our kids to do well and build their self-esteem, there is a point of going too far. Building a child’s self-esteem is great, but having a big party for a mediocre accomplishment skews what they view as a real achievement.”
that was something that always pissed me off. i was a pretty average kid, so i didnt get alot of the praise i was looking for. I guess that was the right thing to do, tho. hmm. better not let my mom see this :)
p.s. this is clearly a compliment to my parents for doing the right thing.
