i am making my own version of the Bacon Explosion. i am only using 1 pound of each. while i did season between the bacon and sausage, i did not add BBQ sauce. i am cooking mine on the grill. the picture shows it on the bottom level, but i have since moved it to the top to slow its cook time. i figure about an hour. i’ll try smoking one this summer.
the hardest part was getting the layer of sausage flat, thin, and consistent enough to roll without being able to smoosh it to the bacon (since you roll theme separately).
