it actually didn’t turn out too bad. the charred bacon was only on one little section and i scraped most of it off. the way you slice it, not much of the charred part is on each piece, anyway. i was more concerned that the sausage in the middle wouldn’t be cooked thoroughly. it was cooked just fine and it tasted really good. i tried it with some sweet BBQ sauce and then some tangy BBQ sauce. the sweet worked way better. i can’t wait to smoke one of these. it will be really good smoked.
