My day has consisted of trying to remove this malicious program from my computer. Like an idiot, I download a torrent last night without checking it’s contents, first. Bascially this “antimalware” program is malware at it’s finest. It gives you some bogus scan and says you have all these viruses, trojans, and various other security threats on your computer. It’s fake, of course. It’s just trying to get you to pay to register it.
It’s very tricky to remove. It disables your sytem restore options, disables your registry editing capabilities, blocks you from uninstalling it, it even slowed down the internet speed of our entire network. Luckily I have a Macbook and was able to research how to remove it. Everything I read suggested Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware program, but i couldn’t get it to run. Kyle’s I.T. guy told me to go get a program called rkill. It disables the malicious program so you can run other software to remove it. Still have a scan running. Hope this finally works.
